Masayuki Katayama
Managing Member & CEO
After completing a degree in Physics at Tohoku University, Katayama earned a Ph.D. in Physics from the California Institute of Technology. Following research and technical roles in the United States, he worked in quantitative system development and private technology investment. In 2018 he founded Katayama Research Institute, now Katayama Integrated Development, and has led the company's management and research since.
Takashi Morita
Chief Operating Officer (COO)
After graduating from the University of Tokyo (Faculty of Law and Economics), Morita held product management and operational leadership roles at several technology firms, including Connecta Networks, Mobile Bridge Solutions, and Commerce Solutions Japan. He joined Katayama Integrated Development in 2018 and currently oversees group-wide business operations and organizational planning.
Kaori Ishikawa
Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Ishikawa graduated from the University of Tokyo with a degree in Computer Science and later conducted research at the MIT Media Lab in the United States. She has held engineering and management positions at several technology firms, including Google Japan and Digital Commerce Technologies, where she led platform development and internationalization projects. Ishikawa joined Katayama Integrated Development in 2023 and currently oversees the company's overall technology strategy and platform architecture.
Risa Sanjō
Chief Financial Officer (CFO); Head, Katayama Capital
After graduating from the University of Tokyo (Faculty of Economics) and earning an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, Sanjō began her career at Booz Allen Hamilton (now Strategy&) in Tokyo and Singapore, where she worked on cross-border M&A and corporate strategy projects. She later held investment roles at Asia Growth Capital and Minato Ventures. In 2017 she joined the founding team of what became Katayama Integrated Development, as Head of Finance, before the institute's establishment in April 2018. Appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2021, she is responsible for group finance, capital planning, and investment oversight. Since December 2025 she has also served as Head of Katayama Capital.
Ui Horikoshi
Chief Scientist
Horikoshi received her Ph.D. in Statistics and Control from Carnegie Mellon University after completing a degree in Mathematics at Kyoto University. She began her career at NVIDIA, developing computational frameworks for control and sequence-model applications, and later conducted research at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). Horikoshi joined Katayama Integrated Development in 2020 and was appointed Chief Scientist in 2022. She leads fundamental research in mathematics and machine learning for the company.

Takumi Higa
Head, Mathematical Sciences Division
Higa holds a Ph.D. in Statistics and Control from Stanford University and a degree in Applied Mathematics from the Tokyo Institute of Technology. Prior to joining Katayama Integrated Development, he worked as a research scientist at NVIDIA Research on large-scale language-model training and scaling analysis, and later led machine-learning projects at a Tokyo-based research firm. He has served as Head of the Mathematical Sciences Division since 2022, overseeing mathematics and machine-learning research for the company.
Yūsuke Kishimoto
Head, Digital Entertainment Division
Kishimoto holds a degree in Architecture and Industrial Design from Kyoto University. After working in product and interactive design, he joined the game industry, contributing to the development of AI systems and tools for large-scale interactive titles. He later served as Creative Director at Rhythm Interactive, where he led rhythm-game projects and R&D on haptic synchronization. Since 2020 he has led the Digital Entertainment Division of Katayama Integrated Development.
Rika Nakamura
Head, Life Sciences Division
Nakamura earned her Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Stanford University after completing a degree in Biophysics at Tohoku University. She worked in bioinformatics and computational genomics at Illumina and Takeda Pharmaceutical Company before joining a Tokyo-based precision-medicine startup. Since 2023 she has led the Life Sciences Division of Katayama Integrated Development.
Ryōsuke Kuwabara
Head, World Music Division
Kuwabara graduated from Senzoku Gakuen College of Music, where he studied music production and sound design. He worked on audio-archive digitization at NHK and later managed data and analytics at music-technology and record companies. He joined Katayama Integrated Development in 2021 to set up the World Music Division, which he has led since its establishment in 2022.
